Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Bayes Racing ("Bayes Racing", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit bayes.racing and any related pages (collectively, the "Site"). By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
We may update this Policy from time to time as described in "Changes to this Policy" below.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Information you provide. For example, your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter, and any information you include when you contact us.
- Usage and log data collected automatically. When you access the Site, our servers and third-party providers may automatically record information such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser type and settings, device and operating system information, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies as described below.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send it to us.
Analytics & performance measurement
We use third-party analytics services to understand aggregate readership and improve the Site. These services may include, now or in the future:
- Third-party analytics providers, which use cookies and similar identifiers to collect information about your use of the Site and compile aggregate reports for us. This may include your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized), device and browser data, and on-site activity. Each provider processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
- Hosting and privacy-friendly analytics provided by our infrastructure and analytics vendors (for example, our hosting provider's built-in analytics), which may collect aggregated traffic and performance metrics.
Analytics run only after you accept analytics cookies in our consent banner, and you can decline at any time. We use analytics data in aggregated or de-identified form wherever practicable. We may add or change analytics providers over time and will update this Policy accordingly.
Third-party services & processors
We rely on third parties to operate the Site, such as hosting and content-delivery providers, email and newsletter providers, and analytics providers. These parties process information on our behalf or in accordance with their own policies, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties we do not control.
The Site does not currently serve third-party advertising. If we introduce advertising in the future, advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies, and we will update this Policy.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and its content.
- To deliver the newsletter or other communications you request.
- To analyze usage trends and measure the performance of our content.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data where we have a legal basis to do so: your consent (for example, for non-essential cookies and the newsletter); our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site; and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Site and provide information at your own risk.
International data transfers
We operate from, and use service providers located in, the United States and other countries. If you access the Site from outside those countries, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions whose data-protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, or port your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and certain other jurisdictions may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can still control tracking through the cookie and opt-out options described above.
Children's privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Links to other sites
The Site may link to third-party websites and services we do not operate. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
